There are 100 gold coins in 10 columns by 10 coins in each column. Every coin weights 1 lb. One column contains 10 fake coins.Each coin in it weights 0.9 lb. Take one measurement to find the column with fakes.

(1)take a weighing machine.
(2)now come in a row(any row).
(3)take coins one each time and put it on one side of that machine.
take anotyer coin from same row and put it on the second side of the same machine.
(4)do it till it becomes unbalanced.
(5)which side it shows less weight the last coin kept on that side is from the required column.
take one coin from 1st row two coine from second row three coin from thrd row ,fourth coin from forth row and going on upto last row then measure it if the weight contain 90.9 then first row is fake, if weight contain 91.8 then second row ,if it contains 93.6 then third row means the answer coming in multiplication of 9 and from that we find which row ic fake

The answer approach is cool but the value mentioned is wrong. If we take 1 from 1st and 2 from second etc we will have 1,2,3,..10 lbs total which is 10(10+1)/2 =55.
If we get 54.9 then first one is problem 54.8 second and go on..
